I mentioned in my last post that I bought a few books so that I could get started on working toward opening my B&B. I thought that the best books to start with would be books on business and management. I started with five books.
The first book is called Built to Last: Successful Habits of Visionary Companies (Good to Great). It has a 3.98 on Goodreads and from what I can gather, it compares companies. It takes successful companies and their rivals that have failed, comparing them to show how they were different.
The second book I bought is The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People: Powerful Lessons in Personal Change. This book actually came highly recommended online and from people I know. My father is the president of a company and he told me that he uses some of the techniques he has learned from reading it. The fact the he even read it is a big deal – he doesn’t exactly read much.
The third one I bought is called Treasure Roadmap: How to turn your idea into a successful business. The title is kind of self-explanatory, I think. Someone who read The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People said that this was another great book to read.
The fourth book I got is called The 4-Hour Work Week: Escape the 9-5; Live Anywhere and Join the New Rich. It had a decent score on Goodreads and a lot of people online were recommending it, so I decided to give it a shot.
The fifth and final book I got is called The 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership: Follow Them and People Will Follow You. This had an amazing 4.14 on Goodreads and came highly recommended. I am excited for this one because I am sure it contains information that I can actually use now to help get into a better financial position that I am now.
And those are the five books that I bought! They should be getting in on the tenth, according to Amazon. I will keep you updated!
